About
Dr. J. Alex Miles is a double board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist who practices both medical dermatology and dermatopathology at our Chapel Hill location.
He earned his bachelor’s degree with highest honors and highest distinction from the University of North Carolina. After working as a medical office assistant at Central Dermatology Center, he completed both his MD and a Master’s in Public Health at UNC. Dr. Miles then went on to complete a transitional year internship at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC, followed by dermatology residency at UNC. After residency, he returned to Central Dermatology for one year of clinical practice before completing his dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Miles sees patients of all ages for medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. His clinical interests include inflammatory skin disease, skin cancer, and using pathology insights to guide patient care.
