Chemical Peels and Focused Facials in the Triangle
Central Dermatology Center offers chemical peels, focused facials, DiamondGlow®, dermaplaning, and microdermabrasion for selected tone, texture, and acne concerns in Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Cary, Pittsboro, Sanford, and Fuquay-Varina. The treatment is selected according to the concern, skin type, and the amount of recovery time that works for your schedule.
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels improve tone and texture by removing layers of dull or damaged skin. The strength of the peel and the solution used can be tailored to concerns ranging from uneven pigmentation to fine lines and sun damage. A consultation can help determine whether a superficial or medium-depth approach is appropriate.
Light or Superficial Peels
Light peels work on the outermost layer of the skin to provide gentle exfoliation. Glycolic, lactic, salicylic, and mandelic acids may be used to address mild discoloration, rough texture, and dullness. These treatments generally have little to no downtime.
Medium Peels
Medium peels penetrate more deeply to address age spots, fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage. They may use stronger concentrations of glycolic acid or trichloroacetic acid, also called TCA. Recovery typically takes 5 to 7 days, and careful sun protection is important during that period.
Focused Facials
Focused facials are 40-minute treatments designed around a specific skin concern. The components may include cleansing, exfoliation, extractions when needed, masks, and selected skin care products.
Silver & Gold Facial
The Silver & Gold Facial is a custom, antioxidant-rich treatment that uses products such as vitamin C, hydrating serums, and sunscreen. The aesthetic provider gently cleanses and exfoliates the skin to remove surface impurities. When needed, extractions are performed and a custom mask is applied to help even skin tone, enhance natural glow, or calm the skin. The treatment finishes with a customized blend of serums and moisturizers.
This facial may be considered for dull or uneven tone, dehydrated or lackluster skin, early signs of aging, and stress-related skin fatigue. It is described for all skin types and may also be timed before a special event.
Acne Facial and Gentleman’s Facial
The Acne Facial is designed for teens or adults with acne-prone skin. It gently cleanses pores, reduces breakouts, and soothes inflammation. A Gentleman’s Facial is also available as a focused facial option.
DiamondGlow and Other Exfoliating Treatments
DiamondGlow uses a patented diamond-tip wand to exfoliate dead skin cells, extract impurities and debris from pores, and infuse targeted SkinMedica® serums. It can improve the appearance of tone and texture without downtime.
Dermaplaning uses a specialized blade to remove dead skin cells and peach fuzz. When included during a facial, it may be followed by a superficial peel and custom mask. Microdermabrasion uses fine crystals or a diamond-tipped wand to polish away dead skin and may be used to address texture, tone, and mild imperfections.
