Injectable Fillers in the Triangle
Dermal fillers can add volume in facial areas where lines, folds, or volume loss are present without an invasive cosmetic procedure. Central Dermatology Center offers JUVÉDERM®, RHA®, RADIESSE®, Sculptra®, and Restylane® treatment in Raleigh, Pittsboro, Sanford, Cary, and Fuquay-Varina. The right product depends on the area, the depth of the concern, and the intended change.
Choosing a Filler
Fillers are not one-size-fits-all. Some are used for fine lines, while others are placed more deeply to address prominent folds and creases or to add volume in areas such as the cheeks and midface. Other products are used to improve lip fullness. A consultation reviews the area being treated and the product characteristics that fit that use.
Most available fillers, except Sculptra and RADIESSE, use hyaluronic acid, or HA, a substance produced by the body. HA fillers are metabolized at different rates according to the product and treatment area. They are not permanent and may be dissolved when clinically indicated, including after an adverse event, allergic reaction, or a change in the desired aesthetic result. On average, results typically last 6 to 12 months.
Filler may be combined with a neurotoxin such as BOTOX® Cosmetic when both volume loss and movement-related lines are part of the concern. The combination and timing are determined by the areas being treated.
Products Used for Filler Treatment
Restylane-L
Restylane-L is FDA approved for lip augmentation to improve perioral lines and lip fullness.
JUVÉDERM Ultra XC
JUVÉDERM Ultra XC is often used to smooth smile lines, the wrinkles that develop around the mouth.
JUVÉDERM Ultra Plus XC
JUVÉDERM Ultra Plus XC can add volume in key facial areas, including the cheeks, midface, and jowl area, where moderate to severe facial wrinkles are present.
JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC
JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC is FDA approved specifically to restore volume to the cheeks and midface. It is injected more deeply than some other fillers and has been clinically shown to last up to 2 years.
Sculptra®
Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid, or PLLA, which can add volume while stimulating collagen production. More than one treatment session may be scheduled to work toward the intended result.
RADIESSE®
RADIESSE is an injectable implant made of smooth calcium hydroxylapatite, or CaHA, microspheres in a gel. It is used for moderate to deep volumizing and is also a treatment option for hand rejuvenation. The gel gradually stimulates collagen growth, which can extend correction after treatment.
